Not knowing one's self, not knowing where you're from, not making connections with the world.

To be cultural you would have to, in a sense, learn about your history or learn about yourself. Without your history, there's no You. You can't make a connection in the world.

Being able to think back to your past, and understand, is being able to make a connection with everybody else.
