Programs like Liberty succeed because they share common elements that, unlike nuclear fission, do not require vast new research and development. We already understand how and why they work. The real question, is how to draw on that knowledge—and to tap the collective will of those whose lives were shaped by such programs—to give back and sustain them for this generation.
